How to clear the Java cache.

Problem: How to clear the Java cache on a Windows machine.
Fix:

Clearing the Java Plug-in cache ensures that the browser loads the latest versions of Java applications and applets.


Note:  The following steps are for Java 5.0. The steps are similar for Java 6.0.



  1. Click Start, Control Panel.
     

  2. Double-click the Java icon to display the Java Control Panel.
     

  3. On the General tab, click Settings in the Temporary Internet Files section.

  4. Click Delete Files in the Temporary Files Settings dialog box.

  5. Click OK on the Delete Temporary Files window to clear the cache.

    Note: This deletes all the Downloaded Applications and Applets from the cache.

  6. Click OK on the Temporary Files Settings window.
     
    Note: If you want to delete a specific application and applet from the cache, click on View Applications and View Applets options respectively.
